THE BRIDGE
Several functions are integrated into the bridge layout.
The navigation functions and instruments are located in the centre of the vessel with good all round visibility and Monitors for observation of boat handling alongside.
The Captain has his own self-contained apartment with food preparation facilities in addition to sleeping and recreation spaces.
The SB side of the bridge is reserved for inevitable visitors for clearing of the vessel in port.
The PS area is dedicated/prepared to serve as instrument room for the customer's own instruments.
A Radio/chart room is located aft of the helmsman position.

THE CABINS

6 double passenger cabins with en suite facilities are located on a separate deck and surrounding a day room/lounge having its own galley. "Al fresco" dining is provided aft on this deck adjacent to a gas fired cooker /BBQ, and forward one has access to the bow.
Adjacent to the engineroom entrance the Engineer has his double bed /en suite cabin, and down below in the restaurant area the Expedition leader has his facilities but with a separate office.
Also below the maindeck are located 4 Crew cabins (totally 10 berths) a Shower, WC and a combined Messroom/Galley.
On the maindeck is located a Banjer style 6+2 berth bunkroom for students/additional crew.

THE GARAGE

This Laboratory and storage space is accessed from the work deck via a small and a large door and from the inside alleyways. 10 workstations are installed having office swivel type chairs and this lab space has no windows.
Around the lab space following facilities/rooms are located; Instrument work shop, Sauna/Vegetable room, Freezer room, Rope store, Carpenter shop, Laundry, Black water tank and Boilerroom.
Outside on the Main deck or in the deckhouse on the SB side are located, Fish cleaning sink, Divers shower, Engineer deck work shop, Paint room, Deck toilet, Rope/Buoy/Anchor store and room for welding gases/equipment for steel and aluminium.

THE WORK DECK
The 120 sq.m open deck is shel\tered by a deckhouse on the SB side and by removable bulwark on the PS. On the stern is a 5x5m hydraulic folding combined Ramp/Slipway, which can work also as A-frame by removing grating and installing hydraulic rams. This is also serving as a diving platform and a quay. Divers have additionally 3 more access ladders to the deck.
Two 5.5 to knuckleboom hydraulic cranes are installed on either side aft, and the 12mm thick deck allows installation of additional heavier hydraulic crane amidships on PS should that be required for work ROV's and/or submersibles.
The large landing craft workboat is stored on the deck together with its dismountable instrument house. This boat has a frame and is used for general transport and towed Arrays/ ROV work.
The deck strength allows a 20-ft container to be stored simultaneously.

BELOW MAIN DECK
Apart from crew cabins and facilities the remainder space provides a 40-seat pub style restaurant and bar, a separate well stocked library, books, videos and CD's. The restaurant is decorated with marine artefacts and antiques and provides an intimate venue for diverse functions. Adjacent is a large well-equipped galley.

ENGINEROOM
The vessel is equipped with two engines, two CP propellers, and twin rudders. The propellers are clutched so as to enable divers to be in the waters with engines turning but not the propellers. One Generator set has been fitted with the same Volvo motor as the main engines, and with the ship cranes the crew can, in an emergency, convert this to a main engine. For operation to DP1 standard, one 300hp-azimuth thruster can be installed in a pod in the bow and another on the PS aft. An oily water purifier is installed and all pumps have separate redundancy systems. A separate pump room /generator set for fire control is fitted outside the engineroom. The firepumps are very powerful and are used with extenders on the deck cranes for mud washing excavations and repelling boarders.
