The Barge, built in 1895 and still trading with commercail MCA certification is both wind driven, economic and stable. She is JNCC compliant and a detailed JNCC standard survey document is available on demand. Technical Specification

Sailing Barge Kitty was built in 1895 by J & H Cann of Harwich to carry cargoes of grain in the North Sea. The star painted on her topsail is the original owner’s mark (J Horlocks) used to identify ships at long distances.

Having undergone major refurbishment during the current 25 years of ownership, her gleaming wood and brass confirms the widely-held opinion amongst the barge community that Sailing Barge Kitty is now considered to be one of the finest barges that is currently available for charter. She not only provides a unique location for corporate hospitality, family celebrations and team building, but also now enters the offshore renewables sector with Wind Powered survey and commercial operations to take us back in time and meet those carbon reduction targets!
